Chest is measured flat across the garment from underarm to underarm and doubled, so it is the full way round. Measured by hand, so allow about half an inch (1–3 cm) either way. Colours can look slightly different on screen depending on your display and the lighting in the photographs.

A cotton-filled parka for autumn and winter.

The shell is a tightly woven polyester-cotton broadcloth, filled with cotton and lined in polyester, which is what makes it warm without the bulk of a heavy coat. Stand collar, no hood, a full-length zip, and pockets placed where you actually reach for them.

Shell: 95% polyester, 5% cotton. Lining: polyester. Filling: cotton.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colours. Do not bleach. Hang to dry, or tumble dry on low. Give it a shake while it dries so the filling settles evenly. Cool iron if needed.

A regular cut with a stand collar and a regular body length, sitting at the hip. A size M measures 104cm around the chest and 64cm from shoulder to hem.

Full measurements for every size are in the Size Guide, beside the size selector, in centimetres with inches beneath. Between two sizes on the chart, the larger one leaves room for a knit underneath.
